There were many things to like about the Biological science course at Bournemouth Uni, there was a good mix of opportunities for lab and fieldwork which always made a fresh change from normal lectures and seminars, this helped increase engagement and productivity. There was a great variety of modules to choose from which is helpful since Biology is such a broad topic, you could mould your degree to a certain angle depending on your interests. The professors were always available to help and responded to queries quickly which helped when essay writing. My main criticism is that more could’ve been done regarding career prospects after the degree, I think further attention to this area should be considered in the future. Bournemouth as a location for a university experience is better than expected, a quiet seaside town that is brought to life by students with club nights most days of the week and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Of course, there is also the beach which is a great place for walks and runs in the winter and for gatherings, parties and days out in the Summer months.
