Academics at Aston Business School

Aston Business School offers a wide range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, covering different aspects of the business world, including Accounting, Finance and Economics; Law, Marketing and HR; Business and Management and others. The courses provided by the School allow students to specialize in a particular area of business, which they enjoy the most.

Students also have the opportunity to obtain the so-called double degree, which is similar to an exchange but during their placement, students follow a certain curriculum allowing them to obtain a degree by a partner institution. Partner institutions include a small number of triple-accredited business schools, including Kozminski University, Warsaw; Queensland University of Technology Business School Brisbane, Australia; Emlyon Business School, Saint-Etienne, France; Audencia Business School, Nantes, France. Double degree courses are taught in English but students get the opportunity to try the language of the country they are in and explore its culture.

Aston Business School’s staff have an extensive industry background and some of them have even written the books used by students to support their learning. Staff develop innovative teaching methods, which involve games and simulations in order to fully engage students and increase their learning effectiveness and efficiency. Students at the school also learn through real-world business activities delivered by the School thanks to the partnerships it had established. Such activities include in-house business and law clinics, working with charities and with organizations, the size of which varies from startups to large global organizations.

Students are given the chance to study a language of their choice alongside their degree.

Aston Business School is located in the heart of Birmingham, UK. Birmingham is the second-largest city in the UK and has multiple transport links with all of Europe and the rest of the world. London is only an hour and a half away by train as well.

The School offers more than 130 student clubs and societies, including cultural, faith, academic and general interest clubs and societies. Students even have the opportunity to create one of their own. There are many sports opportunities on campus as well, regardless of whether students want to stay in shape by going to the gym and doing a sport for fun or playing a sport competitively. The wide range of sports, such as football, volleyball, basketball, netball and many more, ensures that all students will be able to find what they are looking for.

Aston Business School provides students with the opportunity to go on placements and apprenticeships in order to gain valuable industry experience and be fully prepared for the start of their careers. Apart from the multiple opportunities students can find on their own, Aston Business School arranges more than 200 employer visits on campus every year in order to allow students to meet employers, enhance their network and learn useful information about different industries.
