Lund University is , in my opinion one of the best universities in the world to be a student at. As an international student coming from India, Sweden was very new and different in many ways. The university has its courses and extracurricular activities organized in such a way that International students are made comfortable with the general things, culture, education system etc before the actual start of the course in a one week Introduction program. To me, this was a very beneficial session and helped me understand people better.
The education system is very structured in Sweden. Working on only 2 subjects at a time for 2 months, finish the exam and then move on to other subjects. This helps you focus and go deep into the subject. Also, there is the possibility of re-taking the exam as many times as you want (something that students generally misuse in my opinion). But this is a good system and encourages the ones who really want to work hard and get better. The university has great facilities, libraries, and of course the Professors are very open to discussions. However, the course structures and some rules vary in each department.
I had a great time in Lund. The student life is incredible. It is a very International environment so possibilities of learning are beyond the scope of the classroom.
