I was studying on URV during my exchange semester. It’s quite well organized. The Erasmus students have good support and wide range of activities and events to participate in. The buildings are modern and the University offers wide range of really modern and well-equipped libraries for students located in the campus (called CRAI). Most of the staff is friendly, but what I found not nice, gently speaking, is that some of them in the offices speak to you in catalan and don’t switch to Spanish, even knowing that you are Erasmus student and obviously you don’t understand.
As an ADE student at the Terres de l'Ebre campus, I can affirm that the university offers close and familiar treatment, the classes have a total of 20-30, which provides more closeness between the teacher and the student. I love the fact that the teachers know you and can have a more "friendly", are always willing to offer their help. A young university, family and full of professionals.
My opinion is quite good, since I suppose that the disorganization among the teachers, the lack of desire of some and similar issues usually happen everywhere. However, I believe that in the Degree of History there are notable deficiencies, such as, for example, subjects with contents that are repeated or others that should be given beforehand; In addition, although it is of history, sometimes it is missed that the subject is related to the history of art or with something more than archeology, for example. At the level of the situation, it is well located, although sometimes it is centralized in terms of activities for the students (especially in the race itself). On the other hand, the facilities are recent; However, sometimes, in relation to aspects such as air conditioning or heating, there are technical problems. The library (CRAI) is well structured and has a fairly prominent bibliography, including spaces for group work, study, as well as a space to talk with vending machines.
It is a university that is improving over the years. In the degree I have studied (physiotherapy) there is good subject and good teachers (professionals). We work a lot of research, a point of view forgotten in other careers but that is very important for the base of all sciences. The schedules a bit irregular but it is according to the degree that is studied, in mine it is difficult to combine work and studies, but not impossible.
A very reliable university and really very correct from my point of view, its teaching is remarkable from my point of view. But it is also possible to say that the attitude and way of teaching of some teacher is not adequate and could be improved in more, preparing with a minimum of guarantees the class instead of reading the agenda developed in a very extensive Power Point of text.
My opinion about the Rovira and Virgili University is generally positive, in experience as a student I can say first person that I find it as one of the most complete universities, since I have had the opportunity to visit several universities and my idea about the URV is of the best. It has a great organization with its great diversity of campuses in Tarragona, each specialized campus being a specialized faculty in its field. The organization at each campus (secretary, CRAI) makes things much easier for the students, giving them the information and help they need, at the same time giving a space very suitable for the serious study of the students.
