The University of Vigo is made up of three campuses, located in different cities (Vigo, Pontevedra and Ourense) for that reason must be sure where the faculty of destination is. In my case I studied Energy Engineering in the Campus of Vigo. Referred to the campus: Except for a couple of industrial engineering degrees that are taught in the center, the rest of the teaching is located outside the city, in the called CUVI (University campus of Vigo). It takes about 50 minutes to reach the urban bus (L8) from the center of vigo and about 25/30 minutes from the stops of the so called "shuttles" (U1 and U2). From my point of view this is the worst point since bus schedules are not characterized by their effectiveness. Regarding the career: Energy Engineering and Mining Engineering are two degrees practically equal during the first two years, which makes it easy to change from one grade to another without difficulty. Regarding teaching, the teaching staff is appropriate and the subjects I consider to be taught (in general terms) correctly, having a close communication with the Faculty of Industrial Engineers and having teachers and subjects also in said faculty. Referring to life: Finding student apartment is easy, with an average price of 200/220 € per month with expenses included (electricity, water, internet, heating …). Being a city with many students, Thursday night is usually the best. With nearby beach and several shopping centers in the center there are enough events and activities to spend a few years.
