The university isn't as great as the city

This has been my first year at university and I am studying Aerospace Engineering so I will mainly talk about the E.T.S.I. (the building where most engineering degrees are taught).

About the University, places to study are limited and usually not enough. During the weekends and exam periods, if you want to go to a study room you’d better get there before 9am (or even earlier) or you won’t find a seat.

Aboyut the E.T.S.I., the building is quite modern and new compared to others but this fact has a drawback: its location. It is located in the middle of nowhere sourrounded by offices and the only public transport you can take here is the bus. Only two bus lines take you here (C1 and C2) so you’d better get a house close to a bus stop where you can catch them. This forces students to stay here all day long if they don’t want to loose so much time and eating here is a little bit difficult. There are about 20 microwaves where you can heat the food you bring from home but then there aren’t enough places available for everyone to eat. Buying food means waiting in long lines and eating everyday in the same place because there are few options.

About the teachers, it is like a raffle. You may be lucky or not. All of them are great in what they teach but sometimes their teaching skills really need to improve. On the other hand, I have to say that students are really nice and suffering through the school year together creates great bonds. Without any doubt this is what I like the most about our University.

The library is great and you will always find a seat but the schedule isn’t the best. It only opens from Monday to Friday and some Saturdays when exams are close. Our study room is tiny in comparison to all the people who study here and it closes from 9 pm to 8 am during the week and 9 am on weekends. This forces future engineers (and some other degrees where the same thing happens) to go to a different part of the city to study as I said before.

As a conclusion, Seville is a great city. You will never get bored here and the weather is fantastic. There are a lot of beautiful places to visit and eating here isn’t expensive.
