Segovia is a smaller city near to the Madrid. You can get to the capital city within the public transport. Study in Segovia is a great option for those who would like to spend the time in the calmer place. IE Segovia is offering a huge offer of extra classes and other activities. Despite the fact of being in the smaller city you can always find something interesting. I really recommend this place for those who are interested in IE but prepare the smaller cities.

The best part of the program was the track and the professor, they are great. Here I could personalise and interact with some incredibly interesting people. Both presented a challenge, something which was highly enjoyable.

Diversity- 48 different nationalities, Networking; Quality of Education – professors are working professionals, Covid Protocols are strict and well managed. Talent & Careers are helpful but require efforts from our side. No sports facility or gym for students.

Firstly it is important to mention that fluid learning is the biggest lie IE is selling. Before getting into the program I was sold by the recruitment team: flexibility and state of the art technologies. Unfortunately, I quickly realised these were just some marketing promises. Program management are the worst people that I have met. Though zoom is on for every single class, students need the approval of the program management team to do so, otherwise, attendance is not counted (only allowed to miss 30%). The best part of this is that no matter how legit your excuse is (doctors notes, interview abroad for jobs etc), program management will never approve your attendance online as long as you are not dying of covid. Additionally, the “state of the art technologies” are simple interactive boards, a camera at the back of the class and zoom, nothing incredible compared to the price I paid.

Regarding the teachers, I was promised diversity. If diversity is 2 Indian teachers and the rest Spanish then they definitely nailed it. IE focus more on the professional background of the teachers rather than their ability to teach. Therefore, even if we are in relation with people with amazing experience, it is diluted by their inability to teach. Some of them are on a power trip, making us feel inferior and stupid, though I believe sometimes we know more than them.

Finally, do not do any extracurricular activities offered within the MIM. IE wants to make you believe that they will add SO MUCH to your CV but it is not true. The strategic management track, you will have more classes, more exams and will be overwhelmed with deadlines. The i2i lab, while everyone has extra holidays, you will need to be at IE from 8 am until 7 pm to work on a consulting project which will not add value. The immersion week, you’ll need to pay up to 5000EUR extra to go on a one week trip to do things you could do yourself.

IE has a very practical approach to teaching and I believe it’s one of the biggest advantages of the university compared to the rest of Europe. Moreover, we students have the privilege to be surrounded by people from all around the world with many different nationalities which makes us exposed to a variety of cultures and helps us become more open-minded.

The MIM programme at IE is really comprehensive for someone who doesn’t have a background in management. If you’re lucky, you get taught by professors from very diverse backgrounds and that helps in developing perspective and a variety of opinions. I definitely feel that I have benefited from this course.
However, perhaps the size of the intake is something that the programme management is unable to handle and that’s why the scheduling is a mess. Also, sometimes the faculty diversity is not as promised. It really depends on the student’s luck, which shouldn’t be the case.
