I have enjoyed my time so far in the MVDM program over the past 8 months. My classmates are amazing and definitely encompass the multicultural experience that IE advertises (even more so than the IMBA). Some of the classes are amazing as well (graphic design with Bea Hernandez-Canut was a blessing and I would demand a third term class from her if possible), some were less than great and ultimately felt unnecessary (I can only hear about storytelling and what a story is so many times).
One specific pain point for me was the careers services. I believe they are armed and ready for certain career paths but for me who was trying to transition into entertainment (streaming services), I was told to keep searching with very little assistance. This was profoundly disappointing as I was told the network of IE was all encompassing.
Another thing: the wifi in the buildings was shockingly bad – a lot of money was spent to attend school here and something like this is unacceptable.
Ultimately, I believe I learned a lot, had a great experience and met some truly amazing people. Despite this, IE certainly has some things to improve on.
