A business cannot survive if its products are not marketed in the proper way. Luckily for all the businesses out there, the number of candidates wanting to pursue a marketing career is growing tremendously.
The aim of this degree is to help students anticipate, manage, and satisfy customers’ needs and wants. By doing so, they will be able to effectively communicate the benefits of any business product to the targeted market.
Due to the fact that marketing is a complex industry, which tackles many areas ranging from market research to advertising and promotion, this degree focuses on all parts of the process before concentrating on a particular area of study.
Good news for marketing graduates! If you did not know yet, marketing is an essential aspect of all types of businesses, from all sectors of activity. Thus, all of them rely on marketers to promote and sell their products. A high market demand comes with many job opportunities available.
According to Labor Department Findings, graduates with a marketing degree can earn 98% more per hour than the ones working in the industry without having a specialised degree.
Furthermore, students are equipped with transferable skills, such as excellent communication abilities, strategic thinking, planning, data analysis and so on, that can be used in other industries too.
Marketing degrees can be studied either as Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc). The major difference lies in the presence of more scientific and technological aspects, which are commonly seen in a BSc rather than a BA.
Like most degrees, marketing courses last between three and four years, depending on the university. However, there are institutions which give students the possibility to do a two-year associate’s degree – also called a ‘foundation’ degree.
Even if graduating from both degrees qualifies candidates to work in this industry, a Bachelor degree has higher chances to lead you to well-paid jobs.
The BSM faculty makes it evident from the start of the degree that they want to deliver the highest level of education possible to each student and are always open to aiding students in furthering their knowledge. However, some courses are crammed into a few classes, thereby making it harder to cement the content in one’s repertoire. Nevertheless, this can be an advantage for students as it allows them to have an overview of all related topics to a course and if students want to delve deeper into any area they have an expert on hand to aid them.
View moreThe things I would highlight about this university is the level of the professors, the facilities and the future prospection it gives to its students
The thing I disliked was the methodology of the classes, I would have enjoyed more the sessions if it would have been more dynamic and practical.
View moreI can highly recommend doing this Master because I feel it really prepares oneself for a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Since all professors are currently working in the field they teach about, the content is not just academic but applicable in real life. This is also reflected by the internship program that accompanies the lectures, where pharmaceutical companies in the area offer 6 – 12 months internships exclusively to the students of this master.
Most of my fellow students have an academic background in health science but seek a career in economic departments instead of research and development. Another profile, though in the minority, are marketing professionals of other areas who seek a change of their field.
BSM gives you the opportunity to acquire much knowledge that serves you both professionally and personally. In addition, it gives you the possibility of entering new jobs in higher positions or even changing work areas. For how it makes you grow, for what you learn and for the contacts you reach, I totally recommend it.
View moreI am currently studying a Master, which is more practical, focused on people who have an active working life, teachers are people with more work experience so it gives you more updated and practical information.
View moreThe teachers are very professional and work in large companies, which means that they are selected to provide the best in each of their classes and nurture their work experience. The contents, at least in my master, cover what is necessary to acquire, at least, the basic knowledge and the general framework on digital marketing, which is very good.
View moreThe BSM has a very good reputation, I study the master in marketing, there are good teachers but there are others who are very academic and not professional. One of the positive things is the ease of carrying out business practices.
View moreA year ago I finished the Master in Direct and Digital Marketing at this university and it was a before and after in my life. The professors are excellent and all professionals of a great level. It is an ideal Master for those who do not have advanced notions of the Digital world, since the course gives you a broad and structured view of the entire sector. Not only do you learn a lot but it is also a good source of Networking. Highly recommended for those who want to start a career in this sector.
