The first day was tough as the curriculum was different and it started to get harder and harder because my maths theory teacher was too fast and hurrying up the syllabus while she was late, and I felt like she only considered the Brazilian student to pass and motivated them rather than the whole class as they were participating more. But the maths practical professor was the best he helped us with everything.
View moreI came from Finland to do my Erasmus semester at NOVA Sbe, and it is like what I’ve expected. Although I knew the campus was not in the city of Lisbon, I didn’t expect traveling to uni every day would be that time-consuming and tough. Other than that everything was well organized by the university and the international department.
I liked a lot of things about my experience here like, for example, the weather in Lisbon is amazing (at least until November), and since the campus is at the beach, you can go every day after class for a beer with friends if you want. I also loved the Portuguese food, meeting new fellow students, and the best part was definitely the Erasmus Corner.
Talking about more educational aspects, I had courses like International Business, Methods for Applied Business Problems and Management Seminar. They all have intensive group work sessions and interesting classes, so I would recommend that other students from around the world come to Portugal for that experience.
To find accommodation I just used the Uniplaces websites and Facebook groups, they all have many apartments and rooms all over Lisbon, but the university didn’t help me with this matter.
NOVA has a lot of student club and activities for students, like sports teams and parties. Their Halloween party was awesome. The life in the city is nice. Public transport works well, uber/kapten/bolt is affordable. The only negative things that come to mind are that customer service is rude in many places and things and events often start not on time. Nightlife is active although very techno-focused.
NOVA SBE campus is quite small since it is only for business students of NOVA. The main building is brand new and nice, right by the beach. My recommendation for future students is to find an apartment close to a train station or the green metro line.
View moreI chose NOVA Sbe for my exchange semester because I knew it was a very well known school in Portugal and Europe. Since my studies back home are more focused on economics and finance, I wanted to try the management world so I enrolled in subjects like operations management, international management and also marketing. In this marketing course, for example, we had to do a Harvard Simulation creating a company from scratch, with all the marketing mix envolved, developing every product, finding out the best markets in the world to sell, the pricing, and all the advertising as well. In all courses, I feel like the theory is very consistent and they always show us how to apply it in the real world. Although I liked the experience, I realized I really do love finance and economics so I wouldn’t do the whole major in business administration. The professors at NOVA are very concerned about the learning process so the classes are always very good. Be aware that if you choose NOVA, there are way too many group works, so if it’s not your thing, you better choose somewhere else to go because it is very demanding. NOVA gives you some support to find accommodation, both on campus or in Lisbon, but you can always choose to live in the Milestone student housing building right next to campus, living directly by the beach. The carcavelos campus is amazing, super new and with a supermarket inside, which is very convenient. There are also MANY student clubs like NOVA Sports, NOVA student union, marketing club, finance club, etc…
View moreNova SBE provides to their students the best facilities. Nevertheless, the education process is very hard but nothing like a challenge for students to get used to the work environment. Nova SBE also provides a website app where students can enrol themselves in companies events or even business challenges case studies.
However, Nova SBE did not just meet my expectations. The university has managed to exceed my expectations positively, not only because of the conditions but also by the professors they hire. This is why Nova hires teachers from around the world so that students can gain access to the best teaching and experience.
View moreNova is a wonderful place to study not only for its remarkable education but also for the incredible amount of jobs opportunities when the course is finished. The campus is extremely modern and a great place to study.
View moreThe campus is new and fantastic, some of the best teachers in Portugal give lessons at this University. They care a lot about the environment and that’s a really important issue in the days we live in.
View moreThe campus is fantastic. The facilities are new and very modern. The staff gives great support for all the students and the degree is well organized. The access to the campus is the only bad feature since is a little bit far from the train station.
View moreGood international business school. New modern facilities, 5 min walking from the beach. Average professors and an average student life. Good national and international visibility regarding carrer aspects.
View moreTheir knowledge about what they are talking is perfect, and they can transmit all the information to the students. All the environment around the school is positive.
It localization is perfect, as all the activities. It is the best in Portugal and will be the number 1 in europe
More than hard skills, it teaches you how to work and manage your time. The assignments are tough to manage and juggle due to the time constraint, but that is life. The environment is great and I made great friends there.
