Hundreds of highly successful academics and professionals have had their background studies at this institution. One of the main institutions in the country with very competitive entry rates and excellent facilities, always in constant growth and updating.
View moreThe University offers a course of Mechanical Engineering that touches almost all of the fields that an Mechanical Engineer should master: fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat exchange, mechatronics, automation, manufacturing, mechanics, CAD/CAE, etc. However, I do think that some of the contents should go through an update, to be more up-to-date with the industry standards, as well as there should be more programming content and the laboratories have a lot of room for improvement. The majority of teachers are quite good at what they do, and usually are very considerate of their students. There should probably be more interaction with the working world for example via internships promoted by the University.
I would advise anyone to do more in the University other than just your course, since those were the moments that I enjoyed most as a student of Universidade do Minho. There are a lot of activities going on all the time, and you’ll always acquire valuable knowledge and spend a good time by taking part in one of the many associations of students or organizations.
To sum it all up, both the course and the University met my expectations, and I would definitely recommend it.
