The UNED works in a remarkable way: the whole course is designed on a national scale by a UNED full professor and there are professors at your local centre that help you with the contents.
The only positive aspect I can write about is the tutors: usually, they are motivated, they help you with the learning and they care about you. Most of them have a good way of explaining things and know a lot.
And that is all. Because for the UNED course professors (the ones at the national scale) you are just a number and a source of income. Every time you enrol in a course, you have to pay for their book. As if the University fees were not enough…! The fact that this University is as expensive as a non-distance one, plus all the books you have to buy, makes it a nonesense.
The tests are automatically corrected, most (all) of them being multiple choice, if you are studying economics. Yes, you learn a lot and are sure to study everything in the curriculum. But such a distance between professors and student makes no sense. Most of the tutors do not agree with the professors in many things, and the facilities are very good – but far away from everything.
For a distance education, I would choose another University.
