When I got admission to study accounting I thought it will be like nollywood uni movies but I was wrong it’s quiet the opposite . As a first year student I had lot of struggles from waking up at 6am to attend 8am lectures because there isn’t enough seats for everyone . The mandatory buying of recommend text book for the semester which most times the least text will cost between 4-5k for 12 courses or more else you wont have a CA as a list of name of people that bought a particular text is kept . and you cant borrow from people in higher level because it’s useless . going to class hungry because your pocket money for the semester is 10k , paying unnecessary class dues. Standing in long queue for hours to write cbt exam ( Gs courses) . to live in a good self-contained in my school with running water is from 150K while below 100k will get u a single room where you share toilet no water or security and exposed to a lot of things . the list goes on and on which an average student wont be able to afford. My school is fun if you have money to foot ur bills else its hell
View moremy university was not so big but the calibre of lecturers in the school was so great that it was as if we were spoon-fed a lot of information. they made learning so easy and fun.
we engage more in practical while learning
View moreFederal Polytechnic Oko is actually one of the best Polytechnic schools in the South eastern part of the country, their lectured are great and educative, there are always assignments and projects that help in putting the students in check in their academic progress, the only problem is that sometimes the workload and school activities might be so stressful as to deprive most students of leaving a fulfilling social life.
View moreThe school structure is good and conducive for learning. However, some of the lecturers are not nice and the environment is not 100% conducive for learning. Yes I recommend it for tech and art students.
View moreThe high price rate of tuition fees, textbooks and registration fees at Federal polytechnic oko Anambra state Nigeria is not funny and unacceptable anymore, students cannot even afford to pay their tuition fee, to purchase textbooks, all that concerns with school now is money because of bad management. The bad management of the school now bases their interest on the income of the school rather than the welfare of the students.
