The University of Salerno (UniSa) is one of the biggest universities in Italy in terms of numbers of students. It features a huge campus and all buildings have been named and coloured in order to reflect the faculty which they belong to. Some of the departments, like DIEM (Computer Engineering) and DIFARMA (Pharmacy), are peak performance in Italy and some of their teachers have published many important articles. Still, I’d say that this university focuses more on research than on teaching, trying, as much as possible, to prepare graduated students to PhD rather than to find a job. In my department (DIEM) I would definitely remove maths-focused courses from the last years of the degrees (especially the master degree) to put some more trending topic courses in this field.
