Since March I am attending the English taught MSc in Business Administration (Audit and Control track) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. When I’ve initially applied to enter it I didn’t exactly know what to expect in terms of teaching methods and whether I’ve made the right decision or not. Indeed, as for the bachelor, mine was an Italian-taught degree, and to be honest despite remaining at the same university, the difference is quite relevant looking at how the professors try to let you understand each course’s content. In my opinion, the English taught courses are ways better than Italian ones, especially because you are able to analyse practical cases in order to apply to real-life what you are studying and also because of the possibility they give to interact with international students and therefore to understand other cultures.
Another important aspect, maybe the most important one (at least in my opinion is the incredible reputation the university has among the majority of companies, and as a consequence, there are career days/workshops almost every month in which both national and multinational companies come to the university making interviews and presenting themselves to the students.
Generally speaking, I think that my university is one of the best for economic studies of the whole country even if going deeper I can see that the Italian taught degrees could be improved, trying to copy the structure of the English taught ones.
Moving to professors, most of the ones I’ve had are really prepared and are able to provide you with really useful concepts in a perfect way; of course, there are some exceptions like in every environment.
Hoping to have provided you all with a satisfying review, I want to thank you for the reading.
Kind regards, Valerio.
