Academic Life at Ca’Foscari

Ca’Foscari holds the honour of being the first educational institute in Italy to offer advanced education in Business and Economics, but now it offers degree programmes in many subject areas. The university is divided into the following departments: the Department of Asian and North African Studies, Department of Economics, Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, Department of Humanities, Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies, Department of Management, Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems, and the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage.

There is also the Ca’Foscari International College in operation at the university.

As well as its teaching endeavours, the university also carries out research at its various centres, such as the Ca’Foscari Competency Centre, the Centre for Experimental Research in Management and Economics, and the University Language Centre.

Approximately 19,000 students attend Ca’Foscari University. As for past students, the Ca’Foscari Alumni association regularly organises events for its members.

Student Life at Ca’Foscari

For those interested in sport, the university has many team and individual sports which give players the opportunity to compete at national and international levels. The University Sports Centre of Venice boasts an array of facilities for students to work on their skills in sports such as judo, gymnastics, and tennis. Additionally, there are outdoor facilities for sports like sailing, kayaking, and golf.

As for culture, Ca’Foscari organises lots of cultural events for students all year every year such as Art Night Venezia, the Ca’Foscari Short Film Festival, and guided tours of nearby historical buildings.

Many of these sporting and cultural activities may be done as part of one of the many student associations on campus.
