Originally called the Athlone Regional Technical College, what is today known as Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) (in Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Átha Luain) can be found in the centre of the country of Ireland, in an area known as the midlands. Specifically located in county Westmeath, the institute of technology is made up of the following faculties: Science & Health, Business & Hospitality, Department of Lifelong Learning, and Engineering & Informatics. Across these disciplines, AIT runs more than 100 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Additionally, Athlone is the only Irish institute of technology that has the power to award PhDs, and they do so in four subject areas, namely Polymer Engineering, Toxicology, Software, and Microbiology.Show more

The gym is amazing and the canteen as well

I like the fact that it is big with lots of societies and facilities. The courses are complete and accessible on Moodle. I have attended athletism and they organized some competitions that brought great energy to the campus
