If you look for an university with diverse environment and wanna build a friendship from all over the world, University of Pécs is a the right answer. Located in Pécs (2,5 hours from capital city, Budapest), the town is a student friendly because of the safe environment and low living costs. I have been 1,5 years as a student at University of Pécs and it still feels amazing. You can easily jump and meet people that you know because the town is small. The profs are good, they open to talk and guide you carefully. I would totally recommend the university as a first starter for studying abroad.

The University of Pécs has a unique international atmosphere, which creates a unique educational environment. The small size of the city may limit recreational opportunities, but it fosters a closer communicative community. There could have been more practice at the undergraduate level due to the peculiarities of the Hungarian education system, but instead the university provides a variety of interesting elective courses with practical assignments, which enriches the educational experience. Many student organizations and activities complement the curriculum, contributing to a well-rounded student experience.

The University of Pecs (UP) is one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe. Pecs is considered a student city; therefore, the environment is quite perfect for students and researchers. The city is cosy, and students can lead their social life quite well. The university is introducing many English courses in different faculties to attract international prospective students. The Rector’s office is quite quick to respond to queries, which is good. The university also introduced a mentorship program where new students are guided by the seniors to adjust to the new environment. Compared to other European countries, tuition fees are less in UP, thus for medical and dentistry, UP is one of the popular destinations in Europe. However, for the internationals, there are some issues as well. There is a possibility to face communication issues due to a lack of knowledge of English by both the academic

Studying at the University of Pécs was a wonderful experience. The international office provided excellent support for international student matters, actively seeking collaborations with universities from other countries. However, at the department/faculty level, there seemed to be a disparity. I believe there is room for improvement in this area, but overall, it was a positive experience.
