UniWA is an interesting university, in it I saw people from all the walks of life, a diversity which I really came to enjoy. The only problem I had was that outside the classroom it was very hard to get into contact with the professor’s.
View moreThe program of the naval architecture and ship engineering department is filled with useless classes instead of having fewer and more important closer to professional subjects. some professors are incapable of teaching in an elementary school.
View moreA day in the life of a student begins of course by coming here, it’s very accessible by the public transportation. Then the classes begin in a fully staffed classroom with top-of-technology computers, projectors, and dedicated teachers. After students can head to the dine haul that is always clean and ready to please everyone free for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, there are numerous cafes and snack shops that they can buy from. In the end, you can easily return home with the bus that in the campus. IN addition to all the facilities the campus is beautiful and full of olive trees and space, so learning becomes a little easier.
View moreThe program that I’m studying is Preservation of Antiquities and Works of Art. The program itself and its courses are very strong and interesting! Some of the professors are truly invested in their work and their student’s future in the school, but some professors are holding you back, even if you try your best in their class. A major change that I would like to see is for the university (and that specific program) to be more organised. The program has a variety of general and specialised courses that can make you decide on what direction of that program, and the future job, you want to follow.
View moreI am a first-year student at the University of West Attica. The current courses are very focused on the subject of Computer Engineering and Mathematics, which is fitting for my Major. Most of the professors are respectful and understandable, of course, there are some exceptions, but nothing to be frightened by. The Campus is located in Egaleo, Athens and it’s only a small walk from the nearest metro station. Unfortunately, due to the Campus being inside the city, it is quite crowded and even claustrophobic at times. There are some coffee shops near the campus, which can provide the students with food or help them relax between breaks, but don’t expect something fancy or remotely tasteful. Student life in Athens is quite lively and cheap, the city can provide any sort of entertainment for your taste. The student accommodation is very limited and the existing dorms are really old, so better luck finding a cheap studio to rent or a roommate. Internationality is barely existent, the crushing majority of the students are Greeks or Cypriots and all the classes are taught in Greek. Career prospects wise, Computer Science is surely one of the better-paying jobs in the industry right now, so a degree in the subject is a great asset for finding a good-paying job quickly. Overall, I would recommend studying here due to the friendly professors and also because attending classes isn’t mandatory, so you can have a more flexible schedule. BUT BEWARE, studying in Greece is like flying on autopilot, you have to do a lot of research and studying by yourself if you want to pass the exams.
