It’s a university with lot’s of faculties and big diversity of students. Most of the proffesors adapted to the online classes and the university even have a sponsor from a popular online platfrom and it gives free accounts to all students and professors. Apart from the facilities of each faculty it has the dorms, that are kind of nice but nothing special, cafeterias that are very well equiped and clean and some sport facilities
View moreThe University of Patras (UoP) is one of the biggest campuses in Greece. It enumerates dozens of faculties with students from all over Greece and Cyprus. I can say that the University’s infrastructure is obsolete and there are no funds for renovation. The government and the rectory authority does not invest in creating a modern, friendly environment for the students. Although, the student’s community is very active in the UoP, providing a variety of events and projects to fulfill every interest and need. We, as students, support this kind of initiative and I would recommend to everyone to get into that community! Hope that helped! Have a nice day!
View moreMy opinion is positive! It’s a great university with amazing infrastructure and state of the art equipment!
The professors are people with a amazing knowledge! The food is good but sometimes not so much
It is a good functional university with a high percentage of excellent teachers.
It could be more organized. The facilities although not extraordinary are adequate for their purpose. It could use more funds for research and labs. Overall a really pleasant experience to study there. Definitely one of the better choices I have made and I am looking forward to continuing and finishing my studies there.
University of Patras has a lot of potential to become an amazing University. The campus is really beautiful due to it’s out of town location, which helps students enjoy their time while being there. Also some of the facilities are being updated and renewed in order for the overall academic experience to become better.
Where UOPA loses some points is on the academic level of certain fields. Many professors don’t fit the standards of their respectable faculty and as a result bring the general standard lower. Also although specific faculties like Computer Engineering and Informatics are getting a new facility some others still don’t have their own.
View moreThis university even if it has many different departments and schools, each of them is on a really good level. Especially the engineering school has departments that are rated globally on the top ones. Also, the campus has an amazing spot which is really green between mountains and sea
View moreThis university is located 10km outside the city of Patras (transportation via bus or train). The campus is huge and beautiful, full of nature, big trees and points of interest.
Some facilities exist, but not in pristine condition. The gym is old and overpopulated, the sport fields are barely maintained, fountains never work. There are also some hidden gems; the university library is a great place to study, the conference center is new and luxurious etc.
Most departments are good enough for someone interested in those fields. Except the ones which are exceptional. There are some departments mostly in the technical field, which have plenty of recognition on a global rank. Also significant is the research conducted and the real life application of knowledge through this university’s programs
I study computer engineering at the University of Patras and the facilities are very decent. Actually it’s not the facilities that make the University stand out but its people, professors and students . Professors are very educated and they have graduated from big Universities and their work is remarkable. On campus and at the central cafeteria everyone knows everyone, if not personal at least you know the faces. One bad thing is the political posters/flyers even graffiti all over the place. Many have tried to clean them but they keep coming back. I believe that if it was cleaner from that stuff the University would be higher in the worldwide ranking of the Universities. But still I love the place and I’m sure I will miss it by the time I will graduate.
View moreThe campus of the university is great and the same goes for the university cafe because there is nature everywhere, enough room for everybody. However, most of the facilty buildings are not so good, most of the classrooms don’t have the right capacity for all the students that they have, sometimes the classroom is too big for the students and some others there are not enough room for everybody. Some audiovisual devices don’t work (computers, headphones) and in general the condition of the building itself is quite bad. Some professors are good, some others not so much, most of them have the transmissibility but some others don’t. Finally, the university has potential but most of it is not utilized.
View moreI’m in my first year of studies so my insight is relatively limited. Having said that, studying at the Computer Engineering And Informatics Department(CEID) of UoP, has been a fairly smooth experience. The course has been quite demanding, faculty is experienced and helpful, and facilities although not particularly modern are more than enough to get the job done(Except maybe our server which needs an upgrade). Beware, if you are not very into computer science and engineering in general, you will have a hard time at this department.
