University of Potsdam (reviews)

The University of Potsdam is really big on research. The labs are sufficiently equipped and its position makes opportunity for collaboration with colleagues across Europe and the world. My research is in the physical sciences and it’s been an amazing experience.

My Master’s Degree at the FH Potsdam was fantastic. Our lecturers were versatile with some of them being in research, others working in the field. The Master’s was a hybrid programme meaning that part of the class was on-site, the other half online. The fact that we were able to study from anywhere allowed for a multicultural class with students from all over the globe. The only downside was the FH and the registration for the thesis. Unfortunately, they asked us to submit three printed copies of our thesis which is a bit of a bummer for students that are located outside of Germany or Europe and just doesn’t seem to align with the whole idea of making the master’s more accessible. Other than that, the students were great, the lecturers were great and the programme really interesting.

There are some courses which contain good content. Moreover, some courses are good. Especially we can take courses from other departments like HPI, Cognitive System. Data Science is a very demanding subject and it would be much better if we got some resources or books to get the guidelines for our studies.

Though the University of Potsdam is not an old university in Germany it conveys a great reputation among the new universities in Germany & it remains within the top 300 universities in the world. More importantly, the course Anglophone Modernities of this university is very famous not only in Germany but also in the world. The professors are very friendly, helpful & positive. However, Potsdam is a demanding place for tourists. Park Sanssouci, the palace which is a part of the university, is a holy as well as one of the most beautiful places in the world where each & every day people come from different parts of this planet. Furthermore, the city is very friendly for the students & the part-time jobs are available as it is located beside Berlin. Plus, the life-leading cost is comparatively low among the other cities in Germany. Also, almost all the students less than 35 years of age, get the residence facilities from the Studentenwerk Potsdam. So, in my opinion, I would say considering all the above-mentioned facts one can easily decide to come here if s/he is offered for this course of this university.
