TUM is home to various nationalities and talents. The course structure is very well designed and helpful to all the students no matter their nationality and previous education status. The professors conduct the lectures in the most effective and interactive way that is possible for students. TUM has exposure to various multi national companies which can help students build their network in the best way possible.
View moreEngineering sciences is a degree with 210 Credits, that aims to introduce students to a broad field of engineering disciplines. It nonetheless is 3 years in principle, which roughly only 10% of the students manage to pull off. You can choose your specialisation in the last year / last two semesters of your study, where you have essentially free choice from almost all engineering/science-oriented courses of TUM.
It is a challenging course in its intensity, the third semester for example packed with so many (complex) courses in it, that you essentially learn thermodynamics in half the time other engineering courses do because it has to share its time slot with a different course, namely mechanics. The timetables are quite full as a consequence, and since the courses touch all the engineering fields, it is bound to pose a challenge for you sooner or later, by sheer virtue of a field not being your piece of cake.
I nonetheless really like the program, it is highly respected and opens gates to any master you desire and future opportunities. The professors picked are incredibly competent, and are some of the most valued even within TUM. The faculty (MSE-Munich School of Engineering) is also incredibly social and together sticking. They organise a lot of events and parties, which are more than sufficient to have a decent time with your classmates.
The university has its own brand value, the group of students are from various domains and various cultures. The teaching faculty provide both online and offline opportunities for the students, which plays a major role for students who are doing internships.
View moreAt TUM you have the possibility to organize your studies relatively freely. That means you can choose everything except for a few individual requirements that are specified in the curriculum. In Aerospace, you can therefore specialize very well in a single area or remain general. In addition, there is the opportunity for engineering flexibility, which allows you to look beyond your “plate”. In general, everyone at TUM (professors, employees and students) tries to make studying as pleasant as possible: you always find a contact person, everyone is open to requests (e.g. student assistantships, theses, etc.) and it is really fun to study there! Study abroad programs are also widely offered, as TUM has good contacts to other universities not only in Europe, but also worldwide. I can only recommend the Aerospace program at TUM!
View moreI am a student in the second semester, of my Master in Management and Technology. I found the perfect programme at TUM, as I wanted to combine my previous background in BA and learn new skills in computer engineering!
