Nuertingen-Geislingen University – HfWU • Nürtingen, Germany
It was founded in 1949 in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the Nurtingen-Geislingen University (Hochschule fur Wirtschaft un Umweit Nurtingen-Geislingen- HfWU), is a public university of applied sciences. At the start, they only offered courses in Agriculture, Business Economics and Landscape Maintenance. In the year 1988, another facility was built in Geislingen an der Steige offering additional courses in Automotive Industry, Economic Law, Health and Tourism Management, and Energy and Recycling Management.
The HfWU has more than 80 partner universities with study offers like:

• International degrees
• Double degrees
• Integrated semester abroad
They have around 5,000 students enrolled in 2003 and 110 academic staff.
The university celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016 for gender equality. The principles in promoting the equality of man and women were formulated in 1991 with these measures:
1. Informing members of the academic community and the public about gender issues
2. Promoting the career opportunities of women
3. Staffing – to achieve women’s share in all qualified levels
