UniLeipzig is so big, that the University building is the city centre. Basically, the city grows in an oval pattern centering the university buidling, which is the first building built 600years ago.
My stint there was a 3month long one, as a Research Scholar working the department of Physics and Earth Sciences.
Within these brief period of work hours(approx 450 hours) there, I might have come across at least 100s of published research work of my colleagues(the SUM division) which had a strength of around 20.
I also had a chance to meet some business and literature students there through international student body, and was amazed by the insights of study they do. Music and art have a strong connection as well with the city.
One shall definitely try a course or erasmus there.
