The Friedrich-Alexander University is the second largest state university in the state of Bavaria. The university consists of 5 faculties, 62 departments, 656 professors, 3040 members of academic staff and 13,000 employees. The university is public research university in the cities of Erlangen and Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany. In Academic Ranking of World Universities, FAU ranked second among the German universities in Engineering and Computer Sciences group.
The FAU also established a branch campus in Busan, the Republic of Korea in 2009. It is the first German university in Korea that offers a Graduate School with master’s degree program in Chemical and Bioengineering and research center. FAU Busan works internationally with various companies and universities.
Tha FAU is using he library system of University Library Erlangen-Number for the region of Middle Franconia. It offers a wide range of literature with approximately 5.4 million volumes.
