Are you passionate about the business and finance sector? Do you follow the national and international news? Then, an Economics degree is the answer. It has always been one of the most sought-after degrees amongst youth.
Economics degrees are designed to tackle all the issues that have an impact on financial situations, ranging from production to how resources are used. Candidates are trained to understand how the economy suffers fluctuations based on the market’s needs and wants followed by the market’s supply and demand.
By far one of the most crucial elements is that economics is divided into microeconomics and macroeconomic. Microeconomics deals with the economic behaviour at an individual level (companies, buyers, sellers and others), whilst macroeconomics illustrates the bigger picture, on a national or global scale (unemployment, economic growth, inflation and so on).
Having an economics degree increases anyone’s chances to find a job, regardless of the field. This is mainly due to the fact that graduates hold many transferable abilities, such as analytical and problem-solving skills, that are suitable for any career.
A study made by the London School of Economics and Political Science showed that graduates from an economics course have a starting salary of £33,000 per year. Having a job in the field right after graduation is a major positive aspect and comes with a lot of opportunities for career advancement.
Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
This is one the best business school in France. Good at their infrastructure and best and friendly lecturers. Now they Start joined to work with MIT courses. It helped us a lot. they’re allowing students to do internship in other countries too.
View moreInteresting, professors are open to discussion. Location in Lille is convenient as it is in the middle. Not enough places to study and eat ! Coffee machines are often broken. Secretary lady is very useful. Courses are well structured and challenging. Professors in my program(SCM) are very good.
View moreI’m doing Global Supply chain and Procurement at SKEMA business school. In my opinion, the program’s design is aligned with what happens in real life. Furthermore, I have broadened my insight about the important of procurement and supply chain in a company, how it work and how to design a better SC to improve the performance of the company.
View moreThe school provides a good environment for the students to develop their communication and analytical skills and more. Its condsidered important for them to get the students to be a family more than just an academic relationship.
View moreThe new program director has made the program interesting but very challenging as well. The MIT Micromasters is very interesting but time-consuming at the same time especially. Overall, grateful for this experience and hopefully this energy will be paid off.
View moreI have been at skema for 5 years now and I have been able to acquire knowledge in fields such as logistics or economics & management in general. Skema allowed me to go to China in 2019 and I was able to discover a culture totally different from mine and learn Chinese. The international opening and the quality programs presented by experienced teachers make Skema one of the schools to follow in the future. Life on the sophia-antipolis campus was punctuated by the various student associations that organized parties and visits to get to know each other better and relax after classes
There is no particular negative point.
The program at skema is average level course and professor are effective but timelines are very less you can’t focus more. extra circular activities are non only if you speak French you are good to go for club like startup cafe and other student clubs. only professor of the English program like Msc course speak English rest no English. if you feel left out if you don’t know French here at skema
View moreIn SKEMA, we can meet students from all around the world, we can also go to study in 7 different campus in different places in the world, it’s a good to communicate with people from all over the world
View moreWell, Skema is one of the top Schools and has gained a good ranking globally it has 7 campuses across. I enjoyed my stay and opted for the Supply chain on the Lille campus. The professors are good as well and have obtained a Ph.D. degree. Coming in terms of placement it becomes tough to find an internship or job as an English-speaking student and as a foreigner but few companies do take in unless some conversational level of French is known .
View morethe professors are very well informed. The subjects are quite hard but interesting at the same time. but what i wish they would change is to have a bit more of diversity in the students. More ethnicities.
