Studying for my Masters of Science in Financial Markets & Investments (MScFMI) at SKEMA Business School Cape Town was a pivotal experience that profoundly shaped my understanding of finance and investment. Having graduated in 2018, I want to share a review highlighting the program’s strengths and weaknesses.
One of the program’s greatest strengths is its specialized curriculum. The MScFMI program offers a deep dive into financial markets, investment strategies, and risk management, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of the financial world. The courses are taught by industry experts who bring real-world experience into the classroom, ensuring that students are exposed to cutting-edge concepts and practices in finance.
The program also emphasizes practical learning through case studies, simulations, and real-world projects. This hands-on approach allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, enhancing their learning experience and preparing them for the challenges of the financial industry.
Furthermore, SKEMA Business School’s global network and reputation add significant value to the program. The school’s connections with leading financial institutions and companies provide students with valuable networking opportunities and access to internships and job placements.
However, one of the drawbacks of the program is its demanding workload. The rigorous curriculum and fast-paced nature of the program can be challenging for some students, requiring a high level of dedication and time management skills to succeed.
Another challenge is the program’s cost. SKEMA Business School is a private institution, and tuition fees for the MScFMI program can be high. Some students may find it difficult to afford the program without financial assistance.
Overall, studying for my Masters of Science in Financial Markets & Investments at SKEMA Business School Cape Town was a transformative experience that provided me with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the financial industry. The program’s specialized curriculum, practical approach to learning, and global network make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to pursue a career in finance.

I am currently in a Specialized Masters in Wealth Management in sandwich courses. The lessons given by SKEMA are very enriching. Being in a specialized Masters, each course will be of great help in my professional career. The speakers are very competent, they are not just teachers, they know their chosen field and know how to share their know-how. It is a very good school that I recommend.
