A Management degree builds a strong foundation in a wide variety of fields including business, finance, economics and marketing. It develops students’ understanding of business practices, structures, business theory, business strategy and research as well as global economies and financial markets. Doing a Management Degree also allows students to gain skills that enable them to work with financial and numerical data effectively.
Management degrees cover different managerial roles, such as Human Resource (HR) management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. They can be specialized into one of the areas mentioned above or follow a more general approach that covers most of these areas.
The range of management degrees is huge and includes Business Management, Management, Marketing Management, etc. They are predominantly offered in the business departments/business schools/management schools of different universities.
One of the main benefits of this degree is that Management is a broad discipline, which keeps students’ career options open.
Management degrees could have a very practical focus, which is an opportunity for students to gain experience in the process of completing their degree before having started their professional careers. Management courses usually offer work placements and practical modules, which include business simulations and business creation in a simulated environment. Acquiring practical experience through these opportunities could make students stand out from the crowd in the job market once they graduate. Research-oriented Management degrees also exist for those who prefer the theoretical aspects of such a degree. Most courses, however, have established a good balance between theory and practice in order to meet the needs of all students.
Management degrees also prepare students to serve the managerial role across a wide range of areas, including HR management, hospitality management, innovation management, operations management, etc. Students can specialize in one particular area or focus on gaining knowledge across all of these areas thanks to the high availability of different management courses.
Additionally, there is a high demand for management professionals in the contemporary business world. Therefore, taking a management course is an opportunity for students to kick-start their careers and occupy a higher position in the organizational hierarchy.
Management courses usually begin by introducing students to different areas covered by the managerial role, such as organizational management, business environment, statistics, accounting and finance, business growth, etc. After the first year, institutions allow students to explore the management discipline into more depth by delivering specialized modules and offering optional modules, which enable students to choose subjects that interest them the most and are most relevant to their career aspirations.
Management degrees take 3 years to complete in the UK. However, their duration could extend to 4 years if students choose to spend a year in industry between their second and third year, which is a popular option among the student community. Setting placement opportunities apart, the duration of a Management degree depends on three main factors – country, mode of study (part-time or full-time) and degree level. Below are listed the approximate durations of Management degrees in the most popular countries for Higher Education in Europe:
I study in Central Asia, so it was different from the way it is in my school. I liked that there was not much pressure on you, the schedule was really convenient to make my own plans. I liked the environment there, because students were helping each other, especially internationals ones. I didn’t feel left out. The equipment in classes, the materials, professors were on high lever. Speaking of professors, I could always approach them, and received a feedback in the way I needed it. I really miss my studies in Clermont, because I was always passioned about classes, projects, since it was entertaining for me, but at the same time you increase your knowledges.
I would definitely recommend this school for those who are interested in business. I acquired lots of skills, because also professors were sharing their own experiences in Michelin, for instance, and it is always useful to be surrounded by motivated people.
The only problem was that I never studied business or management before, since my major was internationals relations. But it was not a problem, because you get help from your class, extra materials and self researches.
I’m a double degree business student, and I’ve loved my experience here. The learning criteria, the university, and the people, are some of the things that I can highlight. Also, the multiculturalism that there is, and the great reception for those who come here.
View moreI recommend ESC Business School, it’s a great business school with a great cultural environment and teachers that really care for their students. Studying here it’s an experience I will always carry in my heart.
View moreThe courses are variegate and the competencies that they develop are different. There are a lot of case studies, which help a lot, but there should be more theoretical study too.
As an international student, the international office was always a lot available for all my problems and questions.
My experience at ESC Clermont Business School was exceptional. The classes were not only educational but also enjoyable, providing a solid foundation for my career. Weekly activities, such as raclette gatherings and bar parties, were an excellent way to immerse myself in the local culture and meet incredible people. I would particularly highlight the positive impact of the inclusion weekend, which significantly enhanced my connection with the university. Overall, ESC Clermont offers a unique and enriching experience both academically and socially.
View moreHaving the opportunity to finish my 5 years degree in ESC Clermont BS was the best experience in my life so far, since I spent everyday learning and exchanging information with international students from all over the world. Learning from new cultures immerse in a new one way great. Teachers and all the staff were very good and helpful.
View moreMy stay at ESC Clermont was very positive. There is a great atmosphere all around. Both french and international students are very welcoming and all the teachers, apart from being great professional, they are great people too. What I learned the most from my program was critical thinking and applied cases. More than learning the theory, we learn, when, how to apply it and analyze cases where it has been applied. Clermont is a great city, small, and cozy with a great student ambiance. ESC Clermont values its students and makes sure they have every tool to succeed.
View moreThe university is fine; I went on an exchange program for a double degree last year and the overall experience was good. Teachers are nice and comprehensive, the campus was in a good location close to the city center, the staff of the university was very gentle. Maybe the only things that I didn’t like that much was the fact that some of the classes offered were way too easy, and that the state of the facilities may be a little old and sometimes small for the amount of students; but in the overall I didn’t have any bad experiences while studying in there
View moreAs a student who came to France from the other side of the world (Peru) to pursue my studies, I am sure that studying at ESC Clermont Business School has been the best decision I made for my future.
Clermont BS guided me from the beginning and since the first day of classes I felt amazed by the organization of university life.
It is customary, every year, to have a month of integration at school to begin to interact with new people, generate contacts, and everything that is experienced in that month is the dream of every university student.
From there, students have the opportunity to meet classmates from different countries and being a foreigner, I can say that the integration of international students is magnificent because in France and at ESC Clermont BS we feel at home.
The school allows you to have a balance in academics (with highly qualified teachers who make you feel very interested in the courses and want to learn a lot from them), and personally (including fun time with classmates on the different integration trips, student parties and different associations that you can join)
ESC Clermont Business School is a school that prepares you for life. Personally, I thank the ESC so much for giving me the bases to go out and face the world of work and now, that I am studying a Master in Management and doing an apprenticeship in a French multinational company such as MICHELIN , I am proud of my decision to have come to study at ESC.
I strongly recommend this school to students from all countries who wish to embark on new experiences, meet students from all over the world, grow academically and have the best opportunities for the future.
