    Fantastic

I actually had a great experience here. There are plenty of programs, interesting activities, and ample facilities to support students. The campus is attractive and offers a conducive environment. The housing options are affordable and in a good location. The professors are kind and helpful, showing genuine care for their students.

    Best campus

Amazing people, difficult exams, very expensive, breathtaking views, average gym, limitless opportunities, good professors, limited food options, housing is an issue, design teams are pretty chill, overall, 8.75/10

Very hard but very rewarding, heavy science emphasis and working many many hours day and night. First year isn’t so much as hard as it is overwhelming. Lots of stuff to learn really really quickly and not enough time to study

    Amazing✨

The campus is bit crowded at certain hours of the day but the atmosphere and surrounding keeps you calm and is just beautiful to look at. The professors are great and tutorials make sure you know what you’re doing. The course load can be challenging but you’ll get used to it.

    Variety of great opportunities

I liked the fact that we learned how to apply our skills in labs, studios, etc. and there are many clubs and design teams that allow you to explore your passions and connect with students with similar interests. The majority of professors are caring and show that they are very knowledgeable in what they are talking about.

Learning how to survive with peers enjoyably

Some classes have professors that spend time to actually teach and make sure that the students understand the material presented. On the other hand, most classes are either taught in a disorganized manner or in such a way that self-study is really the only option to get a high mark in the class. This introduced the need to collaborate with peers and made learning content and designing projects together all the more fun and really strengthened my interpersonal skills.

    Pretty Campus and Friendly People!

I definitely have really liked my experience at UBC so far! I’ve noticed that there are quite a lot of international students which I personally liked as I enjoyed making friends with people from all over the world. The campus is HUGE and as such there is never a shortage of quality study spots. The people on campus are also quite friendly, so it’s also not all too difficult to find and form study partners/groups. The campus also isn’t all too far from downtown Vancouver and the transit system is quite good- so there never really is a shortage of fun things to do- especially for those who are particularly outdoorsy. Most professors have been good so far. Overall great experience!

    Beautiful Campus

I will start my undergraduate degree in a few months. From what I’ve heard, the campus is beautiful however it is very prone to rain. The professors are alright, but if you want to be successful, then you need to put a lot of effort into self-studying and completing assignments.

Great social environment but Challenging academics

The Vancouver Campus is very beautiful with lush greenery and lots of beautiful architecture. It is a large campus but most things are still within a walking distance, there are also a variety of restaurants and eateries dotted around campus if you ever need a snack. residence if you get it is pretty nice but that All depends on the building or room type , some are much better than others. Orchard Commons is one of the newest and best residences for first year , however some may argue the near by totem park offers a better community experience. I found people tended to be pretty Friendly and nice . Classes however at least in Engineering are quite challenging and it can be very difficult to adjust and make that transition from highschool… It is by no means an easy feat… But if you manage to get your bearing and find a good group of friends to help you through things you can make it through. Despite this challenging workload it is very important to make time for yourself and to socialize at least once in a while , as it can all become very overwhelming and you can get burnt out before you know it.

    Good but rigorous

I liked the fact that some professors are genuinely invested in the students’ success and you can tell that they like to teach. The academics were very overwhelming a lot of the time, though. It is also tough to find a community where you feel supported and connected to people, but that’s mostly due to the large size of the university.
