I am a recent graduate from the Scarborough campus of UofT where I completed a double major in Psychology and Neuroscience and a minor in Applied Statistics. The University of Toronto offers a truly boundless experience in terms of programs, professors, and prospects. The courses were very interesting and not only did they provide me with knowledge but also writing, critical reading, and presentation skills. As a student interested in the field of research, I found lab experiences both on the Scarborough as well as St. George campuses, where I was able to run experiments, gather literature, and network with lab members. There are also multiple clubs that one can get involved in that cater to a wide range of interests. In terms of opportunities and career prospects, the co-op program offers a phenomenal platform to kick-start an individual’s career and start gaining professional experience. Additionally, as an international student from India, I never once felt like I’m away from home because I found a large and supportive international community on campus. The only aspect I thought that can be improved is the accommodation on campus because the on-campus residence was only offered for the first year.
Overall, UofT provided me with a very rich education experience and equipped me with a host of essential skills.
