Ottawa is a beautiful place to live and the campus is gorgeous. The buildings are quite nice and everything is very close together. The courses at uOttawa are overall well-run and interesting, with plenty of courses that align with varying fields of interest. The campus life is vibrant and full of opportunities to get involved!
View moreMy overall opinion would be average, they are neither the worst nor truly excel at anything. The University administration is overworked and understaffed, as a result any request you submit needs to be submitted multiple times as they continuously lose documents. The professors in many departments are out of touch and are not always teaching material they care about which is reflected in their classes. Many of the first-year classes have a sink or swim mentality which is not conducive to learning.
View moreUniversity of Ottawa is one of the leading universities in Canada. Based in the heart of the Capital of Canada, the university provides excellent co-op and research opportunities. For me personally, I have found this university to be increasingly academically rigorous and efficient in its academic abilities. Professors want you to succeed and help you in every step of your academic journey.
Courses here are offered in both English and French, making it the world’s largest bilingual university. This also enables the increment in diversity and the international experience.
I love Ottawa. it was so much fun! I am in my fourth year and almost done with my journey! my profs are so good! however, a lot of the older ones mark way too hard. there also aren’t enough classes for all of the students. I have classes that I need but they did not have room for me in them.
View moreTuition is ridiculous of the education you are receiving. Campus always smells a little weird this year. Overall you can get some good profs and some bad ones, but I wouldn’t trust their website as it seems like its dated 15 years.
View moreUottawa has allowed people to do online schooling as a lot of people are not comfortable with face to face at the moment. They are also extremely understanding when it comes to students asking for help and often do their best to create an environment where students aren’t scared to learn/reach out. One problem I have with Uottawa is the lack of diversity at times, often they cater more towards the French speaking part of classes and have more opportunities, along with this there are simply not that many people of color compared to white people.
