View moreAmerican University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is located in a small town Blagoevgrad. I think that its location is amazing as the town is quite and warm, perfect for studying. My main major is Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) and I would say that it is built by amazing professors who know what they are doing. They are great mentor who help you to achieve your goals.
View moreIt’s probably the best university in the Balkans to study social sciences (business, politics, economics, journalism). Not so great for computer science and other tech-oriented fields. The liberal arts system offer a myriad of opportunities to explore interests and flexibility to choose a major when ready. The extracurriculars offered through clubs are also amazing for building soft skills. The faculty staff could be more stable and better chosen for their skills. The administration could also be much better chosen because there are a lot of issues with it. Anyway, overall it’s a good university to study in.
View moreI generally like the school. There are definitely areas in which it can be improved, as the board fails in some directions when it comes to decision making but it is generally well. I would definitely reccomend it.
View moreAUBG is a great university if you’re looking for an American College experience in the Balkans. The level of education is quite good, everyone is very helpful, especially the other students. ABUG staff is very helpful and will always have your back if needed. The location is nice too, Blagoevgrad is a small city surrounded by mountains and has all the necissary places around you. If you’re looking for a bigger city, you can take the bus/train/taxi to the Capital any time from 7 am-6 pm. It’s near the greek border, so if you’re seeking to go to the beach, Thessaloniki and Kavala are only two hours away by car. Also, Ryanair tickets are very cheap from Sofia so you can go almost anywhere on the weekends. Overall, I would recommend this university to anyone who wants to combine both good quality education and exploring Bulgaria and any other nearby countries.
