I graduated in Unicamp last year and everything that the university provided to me was essential for my current career and character formation.
Unicamp provides a quality education due to its teachers, that are mostly very talented researchers.
Its infrastructure is something that also deserves to be mentioned. The university has, in general, well-equiped classrooms and labs, besides its green areas, that allows students, teachers and other workers to relax, rest and also socialize.
For me, the mean attribute of Unicamp, that stands it out of other universities (meanly private ones), is its large range of extracurricular activities that it provides. There you can be part of junior enterprise, build racing cars, do researches, practice sports (as a training for competitions or just for fun) and do a lot of other stuff that contributes for the students formation and physical and mental health, besides of providing development for external community.
Unfortunately, Unicamp has some issues to deal with. I think that the most alarming one is the mental health of the students. As a very demanding universities, some students develop anxiety and depression. The university administration and its social works still need to pay attention at this issue and think about actions to mitigate it.
In general, studying at Unicamp was amazing for me and I’m thankful for having this opportunity.
