UWA had adequate necessity components such as variety of subjects offered, online assistance, qualified teachers and decent facilities. However, the teachers are bombarded with hundreds of students and there are not enough tutors or assistance staff in most science units in my opinion, we had to line up to ask a question in tutorials. UWA student assisting admin staff were also slow in the delivery and often unhelpful in stressful situations for international students, either they have so many student inquiries or not enough staff as well. I understand that COVID-19 was hard to adjust to but UWA responded so abruptly to it in 2019 and all of our grades suffered as a consequence because they did not have enough IT experts on hand and no IT training for all the lecturers. UWA also never decrease their unit fees during the pandemic. UWA does not provide sufficient parking spaces on the main campus and the UWA accommodation (UniHall) is unreasonably expensive, small in size, inadequate facilities (poor-quality washing machines and dryers, small kitchen area, unflavorful meal-plans and overlooked noise complaints). University is already a very stressful time of a young adult’s life, when you add monetary and pandemic complications to it, it turned out to be a nightmare.
