Studying Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam has been an interesting but worthwhile experience. The course, while certainly demanding is more than manageable if you are able to plan your time appropriately and meet the necessary deadlines. A wide selection of topics are discussed and taught within the first year alone and although I cannot say that I was engaged by all of them, my biggest complaint with many is that they did not go deep enough into the content of the courses. The lecturers and teachers are generally very engaged in the subject with the subject they are teaching and if something occasionally falls short it is generally student participation in the classroom. Despite this, the students I have met are generally hardworking and attentive to their studies and impress me with the dedication they have in both their studies and whatever other activities they may be preoccupied with. Overall, I consider the Communication Science program to be worthwhile if you are either interested in the subject or still trying to figure out what you want to do later on in life and are willing to put in the work.
